Word of Life Christian Center is a non-denominational, multi-cultural church for all people, committed to worshipping God in Spirit and truth, reaching Las Vegas and the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ, and teaching believers who they are in Christ and equipping them to serve their generation in the power of the Holy Spirit.
The church began holding services in a home on the first Sunday in December, 1982. There were five people in attendance besides the founding newlywed pastors, David and Vicki Shearin. One of those first five members was Andy Visser, who later became our Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor. As the church grew, services were moved to a hotel meeting room, then to a store-front shopping center. Additional spaces were leased to accommodate our growing congregation over the next eight years, during which time Pastor David presented the vision to “Arise and Build”, and the congregation began giving to a building fund. Property was purchased in 1990 and Word of Life Christian Center began holding services in the newly built sanctuary (our present location) in 1994. Church attendance has now grown to over 2000 people. Word of Life Christian Academy, Word of Life Bible Institute, The Word for Living television outreach and several other ministries and outreaches have been established to accomplish the vision and mission of the church.

1. Upward in prayer and worship. 2. Outward in evangelism. 3. Inward in discipleship
